The original one worked, but it was very difficult to push the buttons and worn/heavily scratched in some areas. It is a bisque color and nearly impossible to find parts. No manufacturer makes the color so rather than having buying a new range and having mis matching appliances, Apex had that exact part, shipped it to me in a couple of days. I just installed it and it works perfectly saving alot of money and hardship of getting new appliances that don't last in the long run.
